My battery now takes much longer before it needs topping up, usually about every 3 months. (it's mainly a school run/ shopping car. 11 years old 45,000 Miles from new!) My battery is an 80AH Bosch less than a year old, and I replaced the alternator a couple of years ago. Next job, repair or replace the glow plug relay, its a bugger to get to! Nick
